Winemaker's Dinner | Petit Ciel Wines

Join us for a delightful evening featuring Petit Ciel Wines over an exquisite five-course dinner on Monday, September 9th at 6:30pm.  Each course is thoughtfully paired with a Petit Ciel wine, ensuring a harmonious dining experience.

Petit Ciel’s Winemaker Leo Ricardez is focused on making small batches of good quality, low intervention wine.  Wine that has a sense of place and a story to tell, made to be enjoyed with food or on their own.  The balloon in the logo is a tribute to all the flying winemakers traveling around the world learning about new cultures and new ways of making wine.

Leo originally studied Agronomy in Mexico, and during that time he was fortunate enough to get in touch with wine.  On a student trip to Portugal, he got to know a little bit about the Portuguese wine industry.  Leo loved the lifestyle, and realized that he wanted to dedicate himself to make something that would make people feel good and connect with each other.  Something that made people happy.

After a Master’s Degree in Oenology from the University of Adelaide, Leo came to New Zealand for a harvest in 2010, and again in 2013.  He’s been here in Marlborough since then, living with my partner and their daughter.  His dream was always to make his own wine, and that’s how Petit Ciel was born.
