When we're open.

Coffee and the counter from opening; the wine bar takes over from four. The kitchen stops forty-five minutes before we close, but the cheese board never does.

Mondays are for driving to vineyards. Public holidays vary, we post them on Instagram and answer the phone regardless.

A Historic Setting

Fidelio is proudly located within the historic Blenheim Railway Station precinct, one of Marlborough's most iconic heritage landmarks. Opened in 1912 and designed by renowned railway architect George Troup, the station welcomed generations of travellers arriving in the heart of New Zealand's wine country.

Today, this beautifully preserved heritage building continues to connect people — now through exceptional wine, food, and hospitality. We invite you to enjoy a glass of Marlborough wine while experiencing a unique piece of the region's history.

Getting here

However you're arriving

By train

The Coastal Pacific stops on the platform outside. Walk off the train, turn left along the platform, and we’re the lit windows at the end of the building, about two minutes with a suitcase. There is room for bags by the door.

Parking

Free unmetered parking in the station forecourt and along Sinclair Street, with no time limit after 6pm. It fills on Grower’s Table nights, there is always space in the council lot on Alfred Street, four minutes’ walk.

Access

Step-free from the car park through the main doors, with a level threshold and no internal steps. Accessible toilet on site. Two tables have removable chairs for wheelchair access, mention it when you book and we’ll hold one.

On foot from town

Eight minutes from Seymour Square, straight down Alfred Street and across the tracks. If you’re walking back after dark the station forecourt is lit and the route is flat the whole way.

Before you come

Do you take bookings, or can I just turn up?

Walk in any time, roughly half the room is kept free for it. Book if you're four or more, if you want a hosted tasting, or if you're coming on a Friday or Saturday evening. Book a tasting here or call and we'll write you in.

Are dogs welcome?

Yes, in the forecourt seating and just inside the doors, where there’s a water bowl. Assistance dogs anywhere in the building, always.

Can I bring children?

During the day, of course. There are macarons, a serious hot chocolate and high chairs. After 5pm the room is R18 apart from the forecourt tables.

Is there somewhere to leave luggage?

Yes. People come straight off the Coastal Pacific with bags, so there’s a rack by the door and we’ll keep an eye on it while you eat. We can’t lock anything away, so keep valuables with you.

Do you have wifi?

Free and reasonably quick; the password is on the chalkboard. Mornings are full of people working. From four o’clock we’d rather you talked to each other.

Coming for a specific bottle?

Call before you drive over, small producers mean small quantities, and the shelf changes weekly. We'll put it aside for three days at no charge. See what's in stock in the wine shop.
